Wellington West Celebrates Distinguished Alumni Awards Night

Wellington West was proud to sponsor the 2009 University of Victoria’s Distinguished Alumni Awards held on Tuesday, February 3rd at the University Club of Victoria. For more than 40 years UVic graduates have been wearing their accomplishments proudly. The Alumni Achievement Awards honours their fascinating stories. Join us in congratulating all of the 2009 Alumni Award recipients:

Tamara Vrooman leads Canada's largest credit union. She joined Vancity in 2007 after serving for three years as the province's deputy minister of finance. She has been included among Canada's "Top 40 Under 40™" and received the 2003 Queen's Golden Jubilee Medal for outstanding contributions to public service in B.C.

Bob de Faye has, over his 27-year career, become widely respected as a consummate public servant. He has played key roles in establishing the Community Charter which empowers local government, and the early stages of the 2010 Vancouver Winter Olympic and Paralympic Games.

Jeff Harris is KPMG's national product champion for its systems stabilization and improvement practice, which he developed. He has expertise in organizational transformation and is the national trainer for technology project advisory services. Jeff also led the formation of the UVic Alumni Chapter in Northern California.
